Quick Navigation:
What is Drive Mad 2?
Drive Mad 2 is a free browser physics driving game — the sequel to the original Drive Mad. You control a vehicle across side-scrolling obstacle courses filled with steep ramps, impossible loops, and gap jumps. The physics engine is the entire game: too much throttle flips you backward, too little and you slide off a ramp. Every level requires finding the exact balance between speed and control. The game went viral for its satisfying physics, brutal difficulty spikes, and the genuine frustration-to-victory arc that keeps players coming back.

FAQs
How to Play Drive Mad 2
Use Up/W to accelerate, Down/S to brake
Press Up arrow or W to accelerate your vehicle forward. Press Down or S to brake or reverse. Left and Right arrows (or A/D) tilt your vehicle for balance correction. The physics respond to gentle inputs — hammering the throttle is almost always wrong.
Balance before speed
Drive Mad 2's core challenge is vehicle balance. Before attempting any ramp or obstacle, stabilize your vehicle on flat ground first. A vehicle that enters a ramp unbalanced will flip immediately no matter how carefully you drive the ramp itself.
Read each obstacle before attempting it
Pause at the bottom of each obstacle and study the angle, length, and landing zone. Mental preparation reduces the number of failed attempts significantly compared to charging in blind every time.
Restart immediately after a failed run
When you flip or fall, restart the level instantly rather than trying to recover from a bad position. Wasted recovery time builds frustration without improving your technique. Fresh attempts are faster progress.
Controls
- Arrow keys or WASD — Up/W to accelerate
- Down/S to brake
- Left/Right to balance
Tips for Success
Feather the throttle on ramps — never full power. The most common mistake in Drive Mad 2 is applying full throttle up steep ramps. Apply 60-70% throttle and increase only if the vehicle starts sliding backward. Full throttle almost always causes a forward flip at the crest.
Use brake-balance for downhill sections. Going downhill, alternate between gentle braking and forward tilt to keep the nose up. Letting the vehicle freefall nose-first down steep descents ends runs immediately.
Play Drive Mad 1 first if you're struggling. Drive Mad 1's gentler physics are the best way to build the muscle memory that Drive Mad 2 demands. One hour on the original makes Drive Mad 2 significantly more approachable.
Try Eggy Car for the same balance mechanic. Eggy Car uses identical physics principles — balancing a fragile object at speed. Players who master Eggy Car develop balance intuition that transfers directly to Drive Mad 2.
The Custom Drive Mad editor lets you practice specific obstacle types. Build and replay the exact obstacle configuration you're struggling with until the technique becomes automatic.
